Not a bad city...

I've lived here for over 30 years. Some have called it segregated and conservative yet I've seen more interracial couples here than I have in the majority of cities outside of the bigger ones like NY, LA, etc. The great thing about Louisville is its a laid back city that's very affordable. A very nice two bedroom apartment shouldn't run you anymore than $700-800 a month. A decent house can be had for $180,000. The downside is the job market here isn't as promising as in some other places. The weather is sporadic - between May and Aug you can experience a few moments of pleasant weather, followed by violent storms, humidity, more storms, more heat and humidity, more pleasant weather, repeat.
If anything its a great small big city. A glorified sports town ruled by College basketball fanatics, friendly and easy going but leaving a lot to be desired. Great to retire or raise a family but singles may find themselves wishing for more. The nightlife has it's ups and downs. Club goers should look elsewhere but bar hoppers should have plenty to choose from, everything from redneck bars to trendy frat brat spots.
