Macon,Georgia was once a great city , but now Macon has declined to the point of bankruptcy.Crooked politicians and greedy community leaders who stuffed their pockets with hard earned taxpayers money are to blame for the demise of this city. The school system is horrible, taxes are at an all time high and crime is rampant. Want to buy a house is Macon, you can and a rock bottom price! Real estate values are at the bottom with everyone wanting to sell.

I disagree about the schools. I've had elementary school-age kids and did not have any issues. But Ballard Hudson Middle school has horrible administrators. It's a good starter town for someone who doesn't have a lot of money yet. I live one block from the projects and stay to myself and I don't have any ongoing issues. Homeownership taxes are not that bad. {I pay 194 a year for a two bedroom two bathroom rental unit.}
