On the Long Island shoreline with your choice of beaches. Heavily wooded residential community.
A charming downtown with an art movie theater, the well known R.J. Julias book store, and wide streets providing angular parking. Home prices are high but property taxes are reasonable. A state park named Hammonasset offers a boardwalk, a nature center, bird watching, rocky shoals as well as long stretches of sandy beach. Madison is only a short ride to New Haven and Yale University together with Yale Rep theater and Long Wharf theater depending on whether you opt for experimental or traditional dramatic experiences.

Madison is a vacation area without the ordinary honky tonk.
