I recently stopped through Adams County with my son,and to my surprise, I walked into a scene from the movie "Mississippi Burning". I had never in my life experience such racism and cruelty from people. My son and I stopped at the local gas station and the people starred so viciously at us to where I had to literally ask a family next to us if there was something wrong. They looked as if they had NEVER seen African American people in their life. I disregarded the negative stares and walked into the gas station to pay for my gas, as I stood in line I clearly heard the man behind me make a racial comment. I ignored his ignorance ,payed for my gas and left as fast as I could. This town in my opinion in definitely no place I would ever want to return to! I didn't feel safe at all, I also notice there weren't any other black people in the town. I could not understand why there weren't ANY other black people around...ABSOLUTELY NO BLACKS! I thank GOD that my son and I made it out of the town alive. This place was most certainly a town filled with full breed hatred of African Americans...to all please be careful traveling through Southern Ohio...(you will be subject to racism at it's best)!
