I think Opie lives Here...

Moved here Spring 2021, it's now Spring 2022. Having lived in warm San Diego and freezing cold Rockies I wanted 4 seasons and easy weather. I got both! I left the Rockies at -19 for 80 degree San Diego, after a split (buying a home alone in California was impossible). I looked into S.C..and loved just 6 inches of snow and warm to hot summers. Heck, it's late February birds are singing, suns out and it's 68.
Now in S.D..my house would cost 1.3 million, an insane price. Here it's 1/5th that cost. The People are very polite having mostly "real" religious values. So much so unlike Cali..they wave you in when I need to cross into another lane (try that in L.A.)
Culturally it's very diverse, though I'm still trying to accept Shag Beach Music, fresh I only though The Beachboys existed. Silly me! I love Summer in the Park here where every Friday the entire town grabs a beach chair, a plot of ground, and enjoy free music as a Community. Very Sweet! All and all I'm Happy with my choice. Mauldin is a throwback to small town 1959 life when I grew up. My only hesitation is I wished the city had a walk and shop area as it's spread out. But I know a brand new highend mall is currently under construction and from the looks of the drawing it's gonna be Fantastic! So 4 Stars for Mauldin so far!
