I have lived on and off in Mesa since 1981. There are nice places to eat and the city is kept clean for the most part. If you enjoy the bar scene, RT O'Sullivans is a good place. During the summer, its only 1.5 hours to Payson which averages about 15-20 degrees cooler and makes a nice day trip. The Mesa Public School district is pretty good for the most part but if you can afford a private school it is recommended. There is good access to shopping as Fiesta Mall is close by. The summer tends to be a little too hot for me but the rest of the year is good. Also close is ASU which is a good research university.
