The city of Miami, Oklahoma?

Decades ago, I traveled through the city of Miami, Oklahoma in my travels to see family and friends. It was a clean safe nice town. Very little crime, clean streets and nice people.
A few weeks ago I drove into Miami and I thought I was in the back streets of Atlantic City NJ. In about 3 decades the town has totally degraded to a complete dark dystopian dump.
About 30 feet from our hotel room, we saw three cops pull over a man with the drug dogs sniffing for drugs. That same hotel was close to a convenience store (big mistake) and all night it was boom boom sub woofers very loud and open (alleged) drug dealing in the parking lot.
Miami is now a service economy if you can find a job. There are potholes all over the town. There are several Indian casinos and most all the hotels are either owned by the tribes or Indians from overseas, many of whom are openly hostile to people who were born there.
When I first drove into town I saw a sign that "Miami Nation". If I remember correctly Miami is a town in the United states, not a separate "nation", but a city in the state of Oklahoma.
We saw a lot of Indian nation car tags driving around. When I inquired about them I was told they get special prices (really low rate car tag tax) and everyone else has to pay higher price tags to the state of Oklahoma.
I was shocked and dismayed at how degraded middle America has become as a result of gambling, vice and drugs. If you're traveling I-44, just keep driving.
