Out and about in Middletown

Although Wesleyan University is right up the hill, Middletown is not a college town. The town-gown relations are less than a brotherly bond, partly because Middletown does not have much to offer a younger crowd. There are few bars, no clubs, and dismal apparel shopping, but it does have a few redeeming sites. One being Vinnie's Jump & Jive, a community dance hall set out to serve a socio-economically diverse public a platter of various dance styles. Another being Miller's Pond, a local lounge-about spot for those who like to bask in nature, yet because it's New England, that's really only a valid highlight from May-September.
