Trashy People, Nothing to do, Expensive

Middletown, New York is a very different place from most. I had the experience of living here and finishing school through my teen years. If you have children, or you like to go places and do things, this is not the place for you. The people are very strange here. You will see many low lifes from all walks of life here. People are in their own little world here. The schools are terrible regardless of what others may want you to think. There are no real opportunities for your children to advance and for some reason, it feels as though Middletown is cut off from the rest of the world. Its a dirty place to live where you will constantly run into country kids who want to imitate inner-city children, heroin addicts, bums and dangerous mentally insane individuals walking the streets. There are no real jobs that pay enough money to support yourself. Most of the people here have real poor attitudes. Its only getting more and more crowded and looking like garbage. Back in the early 90's, Middletown used to be a nice place, now you have trash moving in from surrounding areas such as Port Jervis, Pine Bush, Newburgh, etc that really screw this place up. Its also because of the liberal Judges that do not incarcerate dangerous individuals and drug dealers long enough making this a safe haven for them to continue their activities. If you want to go to New York City, you will be spending easily over $10 in tolls.
If your looking for a beautiful place to live about the same distance from NYC with the same or cheaper cost of living and not have to pay any tolls to go to NYC- Dutchess County (Poughkeepsie, Fishkill, Wappingers Falls) is your best bet.
