who likes cold weather sports like ice fishing, snow mobiling, etc... This is a dry cold with bone-chilling winds. So, make sure to bundle up for the elements.
In addition to the bugs, the warmer weather of spring also ushers in tornado season. So, you need to be prepared and aware of what to do if/when the sirens sound.
The summer temperatures are nice and sunny. That's when the lakes are overflowing with water activities like boating and jet skiing but be aware that there are a lot of bugs, namely mosquitos. If you are in the heart of the city, that might not be an issue but go anywhere near a lake and you're likely to get eaten alive.
If you are the type to hibernate during the winter months, I wouldn't recommend Minnesota as a place to live. I've been many places but the coldest I have ever felt is here in MN. The nicer temps appear from May to October. In my opinion, fall season (albeit short) is my favorite when the temps are cold enough to send the bugs away but not cold enough to dust off the parka.
