Twin Cities, Minnesota

I've lived in the suburbs of Minneapolis, MN most of my life. I've also been trying to leave for most of my life. The climate is horrid. Winters are long and bone chilling cold. I mean, REALLY cold, so cold that it hurts. Springs are windy and cool. When summer finally arrives, you cannot enjoy it because the mosquitos are so bad. Daytime temps can get hot and humid. By the time September comes, the mosquitos start to die off a bit, but you still cannot enjoy the outdoors because the bees and wasps swarm everywhere. Weather aside, it is beautiful here; very green with lots of trees and lakes. Job opportunities seem to be good, but cost of living is quite high. Housing costs are unaffordable to many first time homebuyers now. People are a lot like the weather - lukewarm to cold. I am one of them and yet I know this. I have heard from transplants that it is hard to fit in. Oh, and beware of the traffic. We do not have proper freeway growth to keep up with the urban sprawl so rush hour can be a real nightmare.
