Mossyrock is a small town " clickish" town. They disapprove of outsiders moving into the area. There are absolutely no jobs locally. People's education level tends to be extremely low. Imagine the Missouri Ozarks in the 1930's and you'll get the picture. Most businesses in town have been empty for 10 plus years. Almost no medical facilities locally. Nearest hospital is 20 miles away , with an extremely bad reputation.
