Review of Naperville, Illinois

The Real Naperville
Star Rating - 7/4/2006
We have been living here for 10 years. Price of homes are outrageous and they aren't even brick. If you are thinking about relocating here, pay attention to the school district. THere are two, 203 is the best. 204 is not a Naperville school district, but Naperville residents do go there, almost half. People think just because the school is located on land in Naperville that makes it a good school, but the district is an Aurora school district. 204 schools have not been around long enough to know there records. When we moved here there was no Neuqua High School. But because it was built for 64 million dollars, it was automatically tallied as a great school. THis has yet to be seen. Also as far as Napervillians want to invest in their childrens education. Quite of few fought against the referendum to build a third high school, considering Neuqua is overcrowded. To make a long story short, Naperville is a highly transient community and overcrowded. It is all a mirage and too many people are losing there homes trying to keep up an unrealistic image. People here are rude and impatient, look at the realigious statistic. One good thing, are house has appreciated almost 100%. We plan on moving south, can't wait.

I have been here for three years now. Naperville has a lot of plusses, but what this person brings up is what really irritates me about this town. Common courtesy is a huge lacking quality here. I used to live in Chicago...much more courteous there than here....to my surprise. When I first moved here, I thought it was mainly the soccer mom's with their 12 mpg SUVs who were rude, impatient....the kind of people who think they have a sense of entitlement just because they are breathing....and who are dead wrong. But after being here for three years, I have noticed, it is the men too. So, if Napervillians could just get off their high horse and be more respectful of others, it would make it more enjoyable. That being said, I do think you get more for your money here than some other surrounding areas....that is great. Also to this point, Neuqua is top rated....and Waubonsie (sp?) is only slightly behind in ACT scores, etc. Going to either one wouldn't be the worst education in the world.
