The climate in upstate NY can generally be viewed as quite wonderful; a change of seasons - snowy winters can be a plus or a minus if you like the outdoors - summers, falls, and springs can ge glorious to behold as each season brings destinctive changes. If you don't hate the lengthy winters then select another place.
