Review of Nogales, Arizona

Nogales..."Little Spring Town."
Star Rating - 7/22/2018
I'm not reviewing Nogales 3 stars because I hate it. I'm reviewing it 3 stars because it has it's great pros and cons. I lived in Nogales for the first 17 years of my life. I have seen the good and the bad of the small Bordertown.

The cons: Underfunded schools, low unemployment rates and the border fence. The schools in Nogales don't seem underfunded but after attending school in Nogales for many years and after leaving and finishing high school in a small charter school in Tucson. I never realized how underfunded Nogales schools really are also bullying is a BIG problem. I wish they could've taken a better look at the bullying problem there when I was a child and young teenager. Though I do agree there's less bullying nowadays and less homophobia. There's hardly any jobs in Nogales and it falls into 12.0% of the unemployment whilst the nations unemployment is 9.0% I heard it's not getting any better now and I can prove it due to my last visit down there and part of the reason why I couldn't live in Nogales was because I couldn't find a decent job. Most jobs are also low paying jobs and you'll be lucky enough to find a decent paying job in Nogales cause they hardly exist UNLESS you have a good education you may find a good paying job. Other than that FORGET ABOUT IT. You can though if you have useful experience, a resume and know the right people like in any other place you're applying too.

The pros: When it comes to parks and recreational activities I haven't been fully convinced but they have very good team sports out and in the schools as well. One of the best in the state in my experience. The community in Nogales is mostly of Hispanic descent and is Bilingual. Almost everyone speaks English and Spanish. There's only been a very few people I met there that aren't Bilingual. There's many visitors from Mexico that DO NOT speak English formally but many do understand when you speak to them in English. You'd be a fool if you think some people don't understand English. It IS in the United States and most people living on the Arizona side are U.S citizens and have been for decades or where born and raised there.

Nogales is honestly beautiful in many ways. There's a beauty that goes beyond any other. I have visited a few very peaceful parts of town when I was in a very depressive moody feeling and honestly it helped me heal much pain I kept inside. I loved walking around Crawford street and seeing the old historical homes. I personally lived in Cr
