What I found surprised & disturbs me for $121,000.

The City of North Port apparently has "issues". Within the past year I purchased a new home within the City. A couple of the issues I encountered are as follows:
1. A Crack House clearly visible through my rear bedroom window, and
2. Little Gangsters within said home were apparent from the onset. These two issues have now been illuminated through the diligence of the City Police their helicopters and K-9s but the eyesore which remains is just that a vacant garbage strewn home. The plight don't end there it just goes on and on apparently "AChieve Anything" translates to do as you please we only enforce the laws as we see "fit"...
3. Pigs penned up in the rear of a residence on adjoining property, and
4. Dogs without leashes, even when the "Animal Control" Officer is in that truck and an unleashed dog is prancing around him..., and
5. Planting of Palm Trees in swales, without the required permits and engineer's reports, and
6. The electrical pumping of rainwater [diversion of the common enemy] from occupied property onto the "other side of the road", and
7. The parking of various commercial vehicles [to include Tractor Trailers used by professional Moving & Storage Companies] numerous unregistered vehicles, and
8. Ties that seem to run deep in that if you make a complaint [albeit formal or otherwise] "those in power" circumvent the ordinances and regulations to provide "cover" for those citizens which willfully disobey the laws in place to make this a livable society, and
9. ATV running willy-nilly without regard for the time of day/night it is and the peace we all so deserve.
I hindsight I regret spending the $121,000.00 (plus costs) to purchase the home I did in this City of North Port. I find those who claim to govern do not do as required of said individuals. I look around at those who thought they got a "deal" when they purchased "short sales" and now seek to profit from same. I would not pay a dime more for what people here previously paid. They should deem themselves lucky if they can find a buyer and not profit one bit from what they paid prior to 2010. I also notice that the assessed values are climbing at an unsubstantiated rate. I would stay clear of an investment in this area and put my money into a safe, decent and unblemished gated community.
