Review of North Weeki Wachee, Florida

The “best kept secret” of Nature Coast region.

What a great place we are blessed to have found to spend the majority of our days.

So nice, clean, less crime than nearby Tampa or even of the Hernando bedroom communities (Spring Hill, etc.) and certainly much more clean and safe than most of Pasco County).

Enjoy the Mermaid show if you are a tourist or visiting family (a family-friendly show, showing such things as The Little Mermaid). Then take the kids to Buccaneer Bay to swim/raft.

Kayaking just down the road at nearby kayaking spots.

Plenty of pool homes to rent or buy.

If you like a more outdoorsy, do-it-yourself experience, there are plenty of opportunities for parks and recreation.

North Weeki Wachee may not have the big money places, like Tampa’s Busch Gardens nor other expensive “tourist traps,” but at least it is safe, clean and beautiful with more wildlife (manatees, tortoises, Sand Hill Cranes and Ibis), and less traffic than the nearby fast-paced communities.

I think we have one of the best police and sheriff department.

I find this to be an excellent community to be proud of: quality schools, clean streets, well-kept homes, affordable manufactured communities and caring people for neighbors.

If you are in town, stop by Cortez Road (route 50) shops and restaurants...we have several new ones that just popped up (Cheddar’s, First Watch and Tijuana Flats, to name just a few).

Or of if Commercial Way there are plenty of salons, restaurants and gas stations...also lots of good veterinarians, churches and other worship places (three just within walking distance from me). Nearby Brooksville and Spring Lake communities have Jewish, Catholic, Messianic, Baptist and nondenominational churches, large and small.

If you like big, try Christian Church in the Wildwood. Small, we have a couple of nearby, family chur
