down to earth?

I grew up in Northbrook and while it's a beautiful community with a nice downtown, parks, train, great quality schools, to say that it's down to earth is a bit of a stretch. This is an affluent suburb where kids are expected to wear designer clothing and have nice cars at the age of 16. It is also a pretty homogenous community.

I agree, it's not down to earth. Full of stuck-up Jews and Russians. No need for this behavior in such a boring, basic, midwestern suburb.
