I grew up on LI, and I love living here. Sometimes. But the cost of a small one bedroom apt is $900. And that's cheap! Electricity is about $90 a month. Sales tax is 8.5%. Commute is 40 mins away. Traffic is is not good. But I guess to live in a place that's only and hour from NYC and close to the beach, you either like or move. Well never be able to afford a house and the high school taxes to we will be moving. This is a place for the rich. If you make under 50K a year you will struggle. Good luck!
