Ocean Springs is nice, but read the fine print.

Been here for 2 years. Previously I lived in Birmingham and prior to that Atlanta where I grew up. I love the charm of the area, and the people. Friendliest people bar-none. However, these folks seem to think a lot of their real estate. I can get more house for much less in either B'ham or Atlanta...or Texas, or Florida..... Waterfront property that outlooks a swamp should NOT be valued at the same price as waterfront property that outlooks the emerald green waters of Gulf Shores or Pensacola. Sorry, but no. Other than the property values, and the taxes ($600 for a tag) I love this place and call it home. But I can't commit to buying a house here and settling permanently when I can get so much more in nearby areas. Plus, I frankly don't think much of the school system (which is rated
