Having run 2 businesses in Opa-Locka for over 20 years, I would highly advise don't be lured by cheap warehouse space. Opa-Locka is 98% Black and extremely violent. Drugs, larceny, assault and murder. It is number one in the region. The Police Department and City Government are corrupt from top down. If you are a business owner they shake you down constantly. Even the water and sewer departments are corrupt. This city is the lowest common denominator.
Machine gun shootouts, drug murders are daly events in this blighted part of Greater Miami. I would highly recommend not even driving thru. You will be robbed at a red light. This place is the wild west! Property crimes are not even investigated. You have to go to the hardened police department and fill out a report and slip it thru a crack. They don't care and don't want to heard about your issues. You can forget ever getting an accident report out of them. The State Attorney cannot even clean up this place. STAY AWAY!
