Pataskala, Ohio

I have lived in Pataskala (just east of Columbus, OH) for about 8 years now. While it does offer convenient access to both Columbus and Newark, Ohio, it is one of the few "big city" places left that still has a bit of country charm to it. For example: If you are a stargazer, then you will find that clear nights here - away from the city lights - make for some excellent views. The crime rate in Pataskala is low, too; in the 8 years that I have been here, about the worst "crime" in my neighborhood (other than a break-in a few years back) was a woman being brought home by the Pataskala police for riding her bicycle while drunk. For me, the best part is that it is close enough to where I work (about ten miles) that I can ride my bicycle there on occasion (and I have done that), yet far enough away that I can enjoy some semblance of peaceful, laid-back living. It can - and often does - get hot and humid in the summer, but during the course of the winter there is less than a month of really cold weather, and, while there is the occasional snowstorm, the winter precipitation is usually not that much to make things difficult.
