Pickens County, SC is a wonderful place to live, work and retire but the information you're posting regarding education is inaccurate.
First of all, our per pupil spending is $7891.
Our student/teacher ratio is 21:1.
Top graduates from our schools attend top schools such as Harvard and Yale, and a local organization called, "Manufacturers Caring for Pickens County", offers mentoring programs and apprenticeships forstudents who may not be pursuing a traditional college path.
