Review of Princeton, South Carolina

A couple of the original churches of the Princeto
Star Rating - 7/14/2008
Princeton Baptist Church (on Hwy 76, just off Hwy 25)-was founded in the 1890s is still an anchor of the community. They will be celebrating over 120 years of services in October 2008 with and Arbor Meeting. A circuit preacher on horseback will preach the service and historic reinactors from Georgia will be there and set up areas so community folks can see how things were done back in the 1890s. Musicians, dancers, and singers will also present music and dance of the day.

Mt Bethel Methodist (turn off Hwy 25 onto Mt Bethel Road, then left onto Dairy Rd and then a quick left to the church road) Was founded before the USA even existed. A spring is located there that was given to the families of the area by the Indian Chief of that area back in the 1700s. The Wood and Taylor families are a few of the original families of that time that still live in the Princeton area.
