I don't know about the bar stuff, but there is a lot of meth - there are no jobs that pay a decent wage, and thusly, employers treat their employees like garbage. Health insurance is off the charts - so most don't have it. The weather is gloomy for most of the year. There is no real industry here - except for real estate, which is at a stand still - with way overpriced houses. The city spent $90 million on a "by-pass" (starting a freeway), then hiked up everyone's property taxes to pay for more schools - when the cost of living here already is much higher than the rest of the US and the wages are a lot lower! Four years ago, people were flocking here - now they are leaving. ...and the people aren't friendly because they all moved here from California.
