Housing has become extremely expensive here in relation to the average household income. Five years ago it was very reasonable, then California showed up and five years later--high prices, a glut of inventory and a minimum 3 to 4 months to sell. My husband and I are both self employed with good incomes and okay retirement resources. Looking to move out of state to either coast by next Spring for retirement in a smaller town, less expensive and not such weather extremes--summers are long and hot, winters are long and cold--not much in-between even though the "city" likes to talk about it's "four seasons). If you blink your eyes you will miss all but two.
