Crime in the city

I live in Henrico County and the crime here is fairly limited to domestic or stupid kid stuff, although a few nasty things have happened in the 19 years I have been here. The real crime occurs in the downtown and drug areas in the city - I don't frequent those areas so it seems very isolated to me. A few years ago I attended the Medical College Campus at night and found walking around the area - near the Capitol - fairly safe.
