Review of Rio Rico, Arizona

Quiet, beautiful, and very far from anything
Star Rating - 11/6/2021
We retired from Ventura County, CA, in 2020 and arrived in the area homeless. We rented a casita for a few months while we looked for a home. We found a place only a couple of miles from Tubac, so we’re closer to Tubac than Rio Rico, and we love it here. The weather took a little getting used to, but the monsoons are amazing-so much lightning. We’re very rural, but within 15 miles of the grocery store, bank, and post office. Nogales is a few miles farther and has the big box stores, and Green Valley is about 25-30 miles away with a good selection of stores and services. This is a very quiet place, with little traffic and huge, wide open vistas. People are friendly and welcoming. It’s such a little town that crime is relatively low. There’s lots of history here, too. And bugs. Oh, the bugs. But that’s true of most of AZ.
