Beautiful blue ridge vistas, no traffic, great medical service, the crossroads of Appalachia, wonderful water at Smith Mountain Lake, home prices lag the US, night life music and food match Charlottesville, no major university in Roanoke means fewer college kids. Take the Blue Ridge parkway to the Smoky Mountain outback. Enjoy an early 60's ambience re traffic, styles, friendly natives, social concerns. Unfortunately, there is no jobs boom.
