Rockford is a nice drive to Chicago, Madison or Milwaukee. It has a local airport (with a few destinations) and close to MAJOR AIRPORTS LIKE: ORD or MKE. The downtown/river district area is alright. DISCOVERY CENTER AND BURPEE HISTORY MUSEUMS MAKE IT GREAT FOR FAMILIES. THE ROCKFORD PARK DISTRICT IS GREAT AND OFFERS MANY PROGRAMS FOR KIDS AND FAMILIES. THIS IS A GREAT AREA TO RAISE A FAMILY.
