Quiet Country Recreation Town

Having raised a family in this little blinking light town, I can say that good, country living is what Rushford has to offer. The town has a bank branch, three churches, a veterinary clinic, quilting shop, two small corner markets, a couple of lawn and landscaping businesses, and a volunteer fire company, but no gas station, restaurant, drug store or hospital. The annual Labor Day festivities with parade, fireworks and vintage car show are quaint slices of Americana. The K-6 school closed a few years back due to dwindling enrollment; kids are bused ten miles to a centralized school. The town boasts a vacation lake and super hunting properties. Fifteen minute rides will get you to a small college town, but if you want a Wal-Mart sized town you must drive a half hour and for a mall 1.5 hours. Medical care is average. Winters are typical snow, wind, bleakness, but the town plows the roads well; get a four-wheel drive vehicle. Summer and fall are to-die-for pretty. Spring comes late with garden planting after Memorial Day. Community friendliness and acceptance high. Quiet, picturesque, peaceful place to enjoy fresh air and hobby farming.
