Small town living with comforts of city life nearb

Salem is a rural community which has grown tremendously in the past thirty years, although still very much a small town. Most people may not actually KNOW you, but will know OF you, or your relatives.
We are an hour's drive from Louisville, Ky which is where most people here go for their big city activities, museums, plays, movies, etc. We are two hours from Indianapolis if someone wants to go for something different.
The public schools here are adequate, although I personally feel they have declined as has much of public schooling in the past several decades.
We have several doctors, one small hospital, and of course have easy access to city doctors and hospitals.
Many people here commute to the Louisville area to work. Most of the jobs in this town are service jobs, with a few small factories remaining.
There are many recreational opportunities for children, one city park, two state parks north of town a few miles, several sports teams not necessarily connected with the schools.
The high school track is open for anyone to use at any time except of course during meets. We have a new YMCA and a Curves also.
