Salem is a lovely town surrounded by the beauty of the Blue Ridge mountains. Spring, Summer and Fall is exceptionally beautiful with moderate climate and lots of outdoor recreational activities. Roanoke is very close by and offers cultural diversity with plays, museum, concerts and festivals. Health care facilities in the area are outstanding. Schools in Salem are considered among the best in the state.
