You sound selfish.

Surfers rule, dude. Sarasota has no waves and the people are all all over 50 years old. Not a party town, man. I' m moving to Cocoa Beach, where I can ride some waves and meet some surfer chicks

Funny! Wonder what native Americans said to the settlers destroying "their" paradise. Welcome to Capitalism dude! Anyone shelling out more than half a million for a small house in a sinking land plus the extravagant yearly property taxes would not need to compete for local jobs. Considering the amount of money they pay just to live in Florida, they should have more rights.

I have lived in 3 different states and all the "lifelong residents" say the same thing. You are not alone. It happened to my hometown and I felt the same way. I then moved to other regions and I realized its the same plight and mentality everywhere you go. Same ole story. Its all about how to just embrace it.

How do you think your town survives? The influx of $ from outsiders/tourists etc., How about YOU and your antisocial self move?
