Late 30's and early 40's couple with 3 children under age 6. We have lived and traveled the country and chose Sebastian as an excellent back water area to raise our children, for now. We stick to ourselves so have no problems of gossip and trivial issues you get with the majority of small towns. We don't drink so we have no issues with drunks or drug drama. I researched the schools and chose the best rated public school and moved into the district although there are many charter, magnet and private schools to choose from. If you are active in your childs education, I feel you can find what you need. What brought us here? Peace and quiet. I walk outside in the morning and I hear nothing. The vast amount of wildlife is amazing. I fed Sandhill Cranes from my front porch, watched Dolphin pods feeding at the riverfront and many more experiences with nature that really just bring you into the now. Insects, that's another story but is why we have exterminator and screened in porches. Rude Nyers? You don't say! That's a given anywhere in FL. I find most people can be rude no matter where I've lived, until you kill them with kindness. If you surf, you come to Sebastian. If you fish, you come to Sebastian. If you're a native from South Florida, you come to Sebastian. But please don't take my word on it. This is one of Florida's best kept secrets and I prefer to keep it that way!
