Sorrento is little more than four corners, but it's location just 8 miles from Mt. Dora rank it highly as a place to live. Mt. Dora is a charming town with wonderful old houses, B & Bs, a semi professional theater, art festivals and first rate dining. There are several golf courses in the area, including the highly rated Eagle Dunes course right in Sorrento.
Sorrento is also just about 35 miles from Orlando and all it has to offer, but there is no congestion and no major highways through the middle of town. With it's location smack-dab in the middle of the state, Sorrento is not often subject to the Hurricanes or flooding. There are apparently few of the Florida "sinkholes" in Lake county, so house insurance isn't as prohibitive as it is in other areas of the state. Major shopping and service are all within 15-20 minutes drive time. There's a mix of age groups in the Sorrento area and families will find life pretty good.
