Visited, Got a Job, Relocating

I just got off the phone with a 10 year resident of Spartanburg who came from Manhattan and absolutely loves it! I went to Spartanburg for a job interview, stayed at the downtown Marriot- the hotel restaurant is fabulous - and I love all the new development there. The Chapman Cultural Center has just opened downtown with 3 museums inside (Art, History & Science), a neat artsy gift shop, and a beautiful small theater. I did not have time to visit the downtown library but it looks massive. There are 6 colleges in town. I did go to the Cowpens national battlefield and to the Carolina Foothill Artisan Center in Chesnee, both worth the trip.
The cost of living is so much less than where I currently live in Florida and they do have Walmart, Starbucks, and Panera - what else does one need?
