Review of Spartanburg, South Carolina

Spartanburg, a wilting magnolia
Star Rating - 6/16/2005
The city of Spartanburg is slowly dying by all appearances. The local government either taxes or regulates a business out of the city. Everywhere I look there are business offices for lease with few takers. One might think that it was due to a poor economy but as soon as you cross over the Spartanburg County line into Greenville county, you see business booming . Spartanburg is not keeping up with the times in any sense of the word, it is a town that is too desparately trying to hold on to its former small town persona and is losing commerce because of this. The up side of all of this I suppose is that you can find property a bit less expensively. Also there are several local collages that help to sustain the restaurant industry end of things. If you want to buy a house inexpensively here fine, but you will have to go to Greenville to find a decent paying job.
