Review of Spokane, Washington

Not a great place to live
Star Rating - 5/10/2018
Spokane has had, for decades, a very deserved reputation for being crime-ridden, trashy, and downtrodden place. Imagine the walking dead, but in real life. The city has huge issues with drugs, homelessness, property crime, and assault. The roads are also so bad as to damage your vehicle. Jobs are low paying, and the entire economy here is supported almost completely by a huge medical provider system (think Medicaid dollars) and Fairchild AFB. Otherwise, it's generally low paying service employment (retail and restaurants). The city, realizing to some extent the well-deserved reputation isn't good for business, wastes millions of dollars on projects that don't fix the real issues, and come across like that neighbor that can't afford to keep up with the other neighbor, but tries anyway. Only, this neighbor is 300 miles west. There's been a recent push using social media to try and convince people that facts aren't facts, and that Spokane doesn't actually suck. They even made a hashtag, so must be true, right? Wrong. There are some pretty places to visit within a days drive of Spokane, but Spokane itself is anything but. The only way to know for sure about this place is to actually visit. Spend a weekend with the meth heads wandering around talking to themselves and decide for yourself. But lock your car, or it won't be there when you get back.

Facts don't seem to matter around in Spokane. No. People would much rather read and believe trash that they made up with nothing to show for. Don't even think about trying to "socialize" here. Littering on property and being absolutely selfish are the norm here. It is beyond intolerable to have a climate like this. Do your research before ever coming to Spokane. Plenty is available from reviews down to personal adventures of what Spokane is really like. Do not come here if you have the option to go literally anywhere else.

Sadly i agree i grew up in the area but only spent 3 years in the valley and 3 years in spokane and a year and half of that i was homeless you want to know why? Well when you age out of care they just drop you on your ass and say have a good life while the years prior they wouldn't let me get a job they wouldn't let me get my liscense this city sets its youth up for failure the drops them once they are 18 or 21 depends on if they decide to tell you about extended care. Dont leave stuff where you cant see it people will steal stuff sitting right next to its owner not to mention the level of violent crime is way higher than the crime rates say you know why? Cause at least 75 percent of the violent crimes that actually happen dont get reported because the person it happened to also has a warrant meaning they report it they go to jail too mentioning jail ours is so full that as long as you didn't murder or rape someone your getting out within a week
