Review of St. George, Utah

St. George is a great place to retire.
Star Rating - 10/5/2019
I have lived in St. George for 8 months and love it so far. I agree that there are not a lot of jobs and most have low pay so this may not be a good place if your younger. Housing is generally expensive but you can find deals if you look around. I moved here from California and like how everyone is friendly and I feel very safe living here. There is not a lot to do here but since I am on a fixed income it does not matter. I have many neighbors who are Mormon and they are all lovely people. Things move slowly in St. George especially when dealing with the city officials. If your the kind of person who needs a lot of attention or likes to shake things up politically or culturally this is not the place for you. If I was younger I might feel stifled living in St. George but as a senior looking for a safe and quiet place to live this is perfect.

Good for old guys that like to play golf. Costco is packed so the ladies always have something to do.

Thanks for this review. I’ve been scouting places in the northern AZ area and wondered about a few towns in southern UT. I’ve read a few less than kind comments about Mormons - I suspected it was just good old fashioned bigotry, but you never know, right? Glad to read a calm review from the other side.
