This very small town in northwest PA is family friendly with four churches and a middle/high school within walking distance for most children living in town. A municipal building, fire department, bank, barbershop, medical office, clothing store, tavern and beauty shop are in the town center and within walking distance of a rent restricted senior apartment complex.
The area is somewhat hilly so homes sit on plateaus among heavily wooded terrain. In summer, the large Stoneboro Lake sees tourists and locals alike flocking to it for water sports and on Labor Day, the Great Stoneboro Fair draws thousands of people to it's live farm shows and auto races.
There is also a gas station/convenience store within town limits and a physical therapy center and gym as well.
The weather in this region is cooler than other areas as weather is affected by the Great Lakes and winter can be quite cold with lots of snow.
While there are some local businesses, major employers are approximately twenty miles or more away.
