Great place to live - a private island with apartment communities and gated communities in the back of the island. Although a little pricey, it's location is convenient to downtown Tampa, the convention center, the St. Pete times forum, the theatre and performing arts centers, and South Tampa, which is home to a number of great restaurants and bars. Especially for the single person or young couples, this is a great area. Also worth looking into are Davis Island and the South Tampa Area (Hyde Park). Rent may be higher but compared to other big cities, cost of living in Tampa is still relatively inexpensive.
