Review of Tempe, Arizona

Culture in Tempe
Star Rating - 2/10/2008
The Valley is full of shopping malls and parking lots. I moved to Arizona from Iowa two years ago, and I miss wooden Queen Anne mansions and the sense of history dating back before 1900; however, it must be said that culture is alive and well here in Tempe. Galleries and ethnic restaurants are abundant, and the diversity of a big university is apparent. Cost of living is not impossible, and the job market is good, so move to Boston, New York, San Francisco, if you have the money and the employability, and turn your nose up at Tempe. I say there's a lot here to love.
