Really check it out before you move

My husband and I moved here in 2006 and are looking forward to returning to the midwest asap. It's funny because I couldn't imagine (before we moved here) that anyone would want to leave "paradise". So much for that...
Housing prices were outrageous when we bought and now they have slid to where they should have been. Graffitti is everywhere-even in the better, safer neighborhoods. I work downtown Tucson and the homeless and/or druggies are everywhere-sleeping near the state office building, sleeping at the main library grass. The mayor and city council seem to be asleep as well...
I remember the Tucson of my (snowbird) grandparents. I was a wonderful town back then-but nothing stays the same and Tucson is no different.
Cactus and the mountains are beautiful and can't beat the weather most of the year.
For the most part, people aren't as friendly here as in the midwest. Also is more expensive and the shopping sucks. If we had decided to stay in Arizona we would have moved to the Phoenix area.
