If you are a retiree and can endure the heat Tucson is the place for you!...But if you have children and are thinking about thier education I suggest considering somewhere else. We rank as one of the lowest places for education, national test scores, etc... It is pitiful!! Very low expectations too! Most parents that I've encountered seem to only have aspirations of their children graduating high school let alone college. It seems to be the adopted mentality here. I think the heat goes to their heads! It's too hot in the summertime for kids to play outside (I'm talking 3rd degree burns if they fall on the ground) If you take a trip to the local zoo, you wind up spending about 45min. walking through the ENTIRE place & could possibly have heat stroke when you're through! There are a couple of neat museums for kids, however, it only takes about 1/2 hour till boredom overtakes you! (but the air conditioning is a plus)
