Review of Uniontown, Pennsylvania

stay away
Star Rating - 4/18/2009
I unfortunately lived in Uniontown for two years while attending college. They were the worst two years of my life. Anyone considering a relocation to here better reconsider. Fayette County is one of the most impoverished areas of PA and is just a downright depressing place to live. Housing is dirt cheap compared to eastern PA where I am from. So if you can actually find a job here you will live like a king. If you enjoy nightlife, culture, or any type of entertainment at all, stay away. If you enjoy the outdoors Uniontown is within close proximity to tens of thousands of acres of public land and state parks. Uniontown is isolated with no major highways running through it. The nearest cities are Pittsburgh about an hour to an hour and a half to the north, and Morgantown, WV about 45 minutes to the south. A highway will connect Pitt to Morgantown in the near future but until then its slow going.
