We moved here from out of state almost a year ago - voluntarily, not military. Unfortunately we have never met such rude and selfish people anywhere. Depending on the area in Hampton Roads that you move to, watch out for bad-I-don't-give-a-d**n attitudes, hostility, and lots of voluntary social segregation. Also watch out for racially segregated churches (um, Jesus loves *all* people, right?) and people who smile to your face but care nothing for you if you're not the "right" color. We're a multicultural family and the fact that everyone from doctors to libraries assumes everyone is one race on their intake forms is ridiculous - see the 2000 Federal Census form, there are TWO MILLION of us and this is 2006, not 1965!!! Talk about backward! We're outta here the first chance we get...the sooner the better!
