Changing...but not for the better

My husband and I moved to Va Beach in 1994 from NYC. Since relocating the housing market here has really sky rocketed. We purchased a home in 1997 that was affordable to us but now that we are outgrowing the home will probably have to move out of the area! I thought I left New York, It appears to me that the powers that may be are trying to create a little New York right here in Virginia Beach. For folks like me who left a large city desiring a slower place, less taxes and a beter quality of life, Virginia Beach has become a disappointment. It's still a pretty nice place to live...but you're going to pay for it!
