As a full time resident since 1984 and a part time area resident (weekends) since 1956, I've watched the growth of this dynamic community up close. I've been a REALTOR in the Winchester area since 1987 focusing on residential, land and farms. Winchester is unique in that most of it's downtown has been preserved and renovated. Many of it's historic areas are much as they have been for the last 2 centuries. The area is gifted with many preserved historical sites associated with the Revolutionery War and the Civil War where many pivitol battles were fought to preserve the union.
Winchester has been home to George Washington, Patsy Cline, Admiral Richard Byrd and Pultizer prize winning author Willa Cather. The area is at the cross roads of major highways which have contributed to its comercial and manufacturing growth since pre-colonial days.
