Nice lake community

The Wind Lake area has lower property taxes than other communities surrounding it. It is a nice, small unincorporated bedroom community, with lots of small lakes nearby. It is about 23 miles southwest of Milwaukee and the commute time is reasonable. The area is growing and needs more direction regarding land use and the overall future of the community. The school system is fairly good. Most of the older small lake cottages have been torn down and replaced with larger year round homes - as more people left the city seeking lake-front property and a more peaceful and safer setting.
